Una caniche de color marr\u00f3n que se llama <b>Dana<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Mi hija mayor llevaba varios a\u00f1os <b>pidiendo un perro<\/b> y en los \u00faltimos tiempos la petici\u00f3n se hab\u00eda extendido por cielo, aire, tierra y hasta e-mail. En las semanas previas a que tomara la decisi\u00f3n de <i>claudicar<\/i>, la vi c\u00f3mo buscaba en google \u201c<i>c\u00f3mo convencer a mi madre para tener un perro<\/i>\u201d. Me dio mucha ternura\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez o\u00ed que respecto a los perros las personas se dividen en dos tipos. Las personas a las que les gustan los perros y las personas que no saben lo que es tener un perro. Somos del primer tipo, est\u00e1 claro.<\/p>\n<p>Supongo que el t\u00edtulo de <b>mejor amigo del hombre<\/b> le viene de lejos al perro por muchas de sus caracter\u00edsticas: fidelidad, alegr\u00eda, compa\u00f1\u00eda, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n estos valores, junto con la <b>responsabilidad de cuidar a otro ser vivo<\/b> y sus necesidades, me parecen muy interesantes. Sobretodo desde el punto de vista educativo para los ni\u00f1os. Sin embargo creo que tambi\u00e9n es conveniente tener ciertas <b>precauciones<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>En primer lugar que <b>el perro est\u00e9 sano y bien cuidado<\/b>. Cumpliendo sus revisiones en el veterinario, sus vacunaciones y sus tratamientos preventivos (antiparasitarios externos e internos).<\/p>\n<p>En segundo lugar, a los ni\u00f1os \u2013especialmente si son muy peque\u00f1os- hay que <b>ense\u00f1arles c\u00f3mo tratar a los animales<\/b>. No todo es v\u00e1lido y es cierto que en determinadas circunstancias los animales pueden reaccionar de forma negativa. As\u00ed que se impone el respeto. Los animales no son juguetes aunque se puedan convertir en el principal compa\u00f1ero de juegos de nuestros hijos.<\/p>\n<p>Por eso tambi\u00e9n, en funci\u00f3n de la edad del ni\u00f1o, es bueno elegir una raza bien adaptada a la convivencia. Y tambi\u00e9n al perro, hacerle respetar a los ni\u00f1os. Educarlos en que no muerdan ni ara\u00f1en, algo especialmente importante cuando los ni\u00f1os son peque\u00f1os y con menos capacidad, hipot\u00e9ticamente, para defenderse.<\/p>\n<p>La verdad es que en nuestro caso, es una perra muy cari\u00f1osa y nada agresiva. Y por supuesto seguimos sus controles sanitarios. Como es un puro nervio nos obliga a salir a dar largos paseos. Algo que es beneficioso para nuestro sistema cardiovascular. Y de los <b>beneficios afectivos<\/b> ya ni os cuento. Hagas lo que hagas, ella va detr\u00e1s de ti, como una sombra. Como un \u00e1ngel de la guarda. Resulta muy penoso saber que algunas personas sean capaces de maltratar a los animales o dejarles abandonados.<\/p>\n<p>Todas estas caracter\u00edsticas desde el punto de vista afectivo y emocional\u00a0 hacen posible que los perros participen en algunas <b>terapias<\/b>. Por ejemplo en ni\u00f1os con <b>trastornos del espectro autista<\/b>, la relaci\u00f3n con el perro mejora la interacci\u00f3n social y las conductas de juego.\u00a0 Es por ello que en algunos centros sanitarios <a title=\"tratamiento pacientes pedi\u00e1tricos\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lavanguardia.com\/salud\/20130927\/54388093643\/perros-terapeuticos-ayudar-ninos-ingresados-hospitales.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">los perros intervienen en el tratamiento y la recuperaci\u00f3n de los pacientes pedi\u00e1tricos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sorprendente, o quiz\u00e1 no tanto; cuando observas, en tu propio hogar, como la perrita se ha convertido en una m\u00e1s de la familia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Por Diario de una mam\u00e1 pediatra A final de este mes de octubre har\u00e1 justo un a\u00f1o que entr\u00f3 a formar parte de nuestra familia la primera de nuestras mascotas.
