Es algo muy frecuente en reci\u00e9n nacidos, se trata de una <strong>ictericia fisiol\u00f3gica<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cu\u00e1les son los s\u00edntomas de la icteria<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los <strong>s\u00edntomas<\/strong> se presentan entre el segundo y quinto d\u00eda de vida del beb\u00e9, y son una <strong>coloraci\u00f3n amarillenta de la piel y de la parte blanca de los ojos<\/strong> (escler\u00f3tica). Se produce como consecuencia de un <strong>aumento de bilirrubina en sangre<\/strong>. La <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bilirrubina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bilirrubina<\/a> es el producto resultante de la descomposici\u00f3n normal de los gl\u00f3bulos rojos. Se procesa en el h\u00edgado y el cuerpo se deshace del sobrante en forma de bilis gracias al sistema digestivo. El trastorno aparece cuando la bilirrubina se acumula en la sangre porque el h\u00edgado no\u00a0 es capaz de descomponerla y eliminarla r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es muy habitual que al cabo de unos d\u00edas vaya desapareciendo por s\u00ed solo, aunque algunos beb\u00e9s tienen mayor dificultad. Los pediatras controlar\u00e1n los niveles en sangre para mayor seguridad del reci\u00e9n nacido.En la mayor\u00eda de los casos es una complicaci\u00f3n sin consecuencias, que padecen muchos beb\u00e9s tras su nacimiento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si los niveles no sobrepasan unos <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ictericia_del_reci%C3%A9n_nacido\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">valores determinados<\/a> no necesitar\u00e1 tratamiento. La recomendaci\u00f3n en estos casos es exponer al beb\u00e9 a la luz del d\u00eda, darle paseos bajo el sol, y en casa intentar que su cuna o capazo est\u00e9 pr\u00f3ximo a una ventana. Con estos sencillos consejos en pocos d\u00edas recuperar\u00e1 un tono normal de piel.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">El tratamiento<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En caso de tener niveles elevados el tratamiento es muy sencillo y totalmente inocuo, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/spanish\/ency\/article\/002394.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>fototerapia<\/strong><\/a>: se expone al beb\u00e9, sin ropa, a luz ultravioleta. Se le cubrir\u00e1n los ojos para que no se da\u00f1en. Los rayos de luz aceleran el proceso de eliminaci\u00f3n de la bilirrubina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En un reducido n\u00famero de beb\u00e9s, la ictericia es s\u00edntoma de alguna otra enfermedad o trastorno: incompatibilidad sangu\u00ednea entre la madre y el beb\u00e9, alteraciones en el h\u00edgado, problemas hep\u00e1ticos. Los pediatras descartar\u00e1n cualquier patolog\u00eda, aunque como decimos estos trastornos m\u00e1s severos se dan en un porcentaje m\u00ednimo de reci\u00e9n nacidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los beb\u00e9s prematuros tienen m\u00e1s posibilidades de padecer ictericia, debido a la inmadurez de sus \u00f3rganos. Si en un beb\u00e9 a t\u00e9rmino el h\u00edgado a veces no puede descomponer los gl\u00f3bulos rojos con la rapidez que se le exige, en un beb\u00e9 prematuro el h\u00edgado tiene que hacer un esfuerzo mayor. Descartada cualquier otra enfermedad, al igual que en otros reci\u00e9n nacidos, la terapia es la misma, fototerapia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esperamos que esta informaci\u00f3n os sea de utilidad.
