Ser madre por primera vez con m\u00e1s de 35 a\u00f1os es considerado de lo m\u00e1s normal en nuestra sociedad.<\/p>\n<p>Pero aunque socialmente es aceptable, fisiol\u00f3gicamente los\u00a0embarazos tard\u00edos puede conllevar una serie de riesgos reales.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfCu\u00e1les son los riesgos que se deben tener en cuenta en un embarazo a partir de los 35 a\u00f1os?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Aunque a esa edad seguimos siendo j\u00f3venes, <strong>la fertilidad comienza a ser menor<\/strong> debido a que el n\u00famero de ovocitos desciende. Incluso se pueden llegar a tener ciclos sin ovulaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li><strong>El riesgo de aborto espont\u00e1neo aumenta<\/strong> conforme la mujer se acerca a los 40.<\/li>\n<li>A partir de los 35 el <strong>riesgo de alteraciones cromos\u00f3micas en el feto<\/strong>, como el Sindrome de Down, es mayor.<\/li>\n<li>Aunque no por m\u00e1s edad se va a tener un peor embarazo la realidad indica que el riesgo de padecer enfermedades como diabetes gestacional, preeclampsia o hipertensi\u00f3n, es m\u00e1s elevado.<\/li>\n<li>Hay <strong>m\u00e1s probabilidades de un embarazo m\u00faltiple<\/strong>. El motivo, con la edad la mujer produce mayor cantidad de hormona estimulante de la ovulaci\u00f3n con lo que la probabilidad de gestar gemelos o mellizos aumenta hasta un 5% entre los 25 y los 40 a\u00f1os.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No obstante, con un control adecuado la mayor\u00eda de las mujeres consiguen tener un embarazo saludable.
